Mary Launder, born March, 1613 in Wasail, Staffordshire, England, married Ananias Conklin Feb. 23, 1631 at St. Peter's Church in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire. They emigrated to Salem, Massachusetts, before April 25, 1638, the date Ananias was granted land in Salem. Mary died in Salem about 1639, after the birth of son Benjamin born by Feb 1638.

  1. Mary Conkling b. 11 Dec 1631, d. a 1653. Married George Miller.
  2. Jeremiah Conkling+ b. 1634, d. 14 Mar 1711/12. Married Mary Gardiner.
  3. Cornelius Conkling b. 1636, d. 21 Mar 1667/68. Married Mary.
  4. Benjamin Conkling+ b. 1 Feb 1637/38, d. 3 Feb 1708/9. Married Hannah Mulford.

Ananias married about 1640 a Susan (?), thought to be the Susan Concklyne who is entered on 7 February 1640/1 as a member of The First Church of Salem. A son Lewis, born to Susan, was baptized 30 April 1643 in Salem.

Ananias moved to Southold, Suffolk County, New York about 1650. He moved to East Hampton, Suffolk County, New York by 5 July 1653, after his land holdings were listed in Southold town records with a purchase in December 1652. His second wife Susan died likely in Southold. Ananias married a third time in East Hampton the widow Dorothy Rose, who had a daughter Hester about 1654.
