On 26 Oct 1668 Joseph first married Bethiah Bridges, daughter of Edmund Bridges (ca 1612-13 Jan 1683/4) & Elizabeth Manwaring (-31 Dec 1664), in Topsfield, MA. Born ca 1645 in Rowley, MA.

4 Jan 1714/5 Joseph second married Mary Wheeler, daughter of John Wheeler & Mary, in Beverly, MA. Born in Mar 1685 in Beverly, MA. Mary died aft 1721.

Joseph made his will March 20, 1720-1. In it he named his wife Mary, son Jonathan, daughters Sarah Johnson, Bethia Peabody, Lydia Bixby, and Alice Holt, and grandson Moses Peabody, son of son Samuel.[2]
