About Mary Pettus
Mary Dabney was born to George Dabney I and his wife, Elizabeth in King and Queen County, later King William County, Virginia.
She married Stephen Pettus, the only son of Thomas Pettus of James City County, circa 1700. He was born about 1678/79. They had four sons Stephen Jr., Dabney, John, and George and at least one daughter, Anne.
In his 1729 will, George Dabney I left Mary a token amount, 20 shillings, and to her son George a slave.
