a. Note: Mary Gower b 1716 has three different places in the Gower family. It makes the most sense in Robertson family timing that she was Abel Gower Sr's sister and not his daughter; certainly not his grand daughter. James Robertson the founder of Nashville was supposedly Abel's nephew. Also he was born in 1742, which means his mother must have been born around 1720; she was within a few years of the same age as Abel Gower Sr.
