Mary Rudd

Not the same as Mary Post

Mary Post was born November 1662, in Norwich in the Colony of Connecticut. She is the daughter of John Post and Hester Hyde.[1]

Mary's father was one of founders of Mohegan in 1660. Their home lot was across the street from her grandfather and uncle on the Hyde side and her uncle on the Post side was just up the street.[2] Two years later, the town became known as Norwich.

This person is an ancestor of President Millard Fillmore. [3]

Mary, daughter of John and Hester (Hyde) Post; married Nathaniel Rudd April 16, 1685, recorded at Norwich, Connecticut. She was his first wife.

Children, births recorded at Norwich, included:

• Jonathan, born May 22, 1693, m. Joanna Gregory.
• Mary, born February 3, 1695/6, m. Ebenezer Wood.
• Lidea, born June 22, 1697, died in childhood.

Mary's widow married as his second wife Abigael Hartshorn January 31, 1705/6
