Lawyer; mayor of Ann Arbor, Mich., 1875-77; member of Michigan state house of representatives from Washtenaw County 2nd District, 1881-82; circuit judge in Michigan 22nd Circuit, 1888-1917; president, First National Bank, Ann Arbor, Mich.; president, Washtenaw Gas Co. Episcopalian. English ancestry. Died in 1921. Burial location unknown.
