Death: ABT 1798 in Henry Co., VA "A BRASHEAR(S) FAMILY HISTORY, Descendants of Robert and Benois Brasseur; Vol, 2 - ROBERT C. BRASHEAR of North Carolina and Some Descendantsin TN, KY, MO, TX, etc" by Charles Brashear, in chapter 4, p. 47: The eldest son of Robert C. Brashear and Charity Dowell in a lawsuit over the lease and ownership of "Brashear's Meadow," a 200 acre parcel onBeaver Dam, a branch of the eastern branch of the Potomac River, in Prince George's County, Maryland. After his father died, Philip leasedthe land to a John Stout, then a man by the name of Thomas Hewlett forcefully took the land from Stout, and ran him off the leased land. Philip brought a suit against Hewlett to reclaim his land - " Philip Brashears vs. Thomas Hewlett," General Court Judgements, Western Shores Maryland) 1798-99, v.41, pages 22-38.
