Leopold Neuhaus was born on 18 January 1879 in Rotenburg an der Fulda, Germany.1,2 He married Cilly Carlebach, daughter of Rabbi Salomon Carlebach. Leopold Neuhaus was a prominent rabbi in Frankfurt, Germany, before 1940. He was deported to the Theresienstadt Concentration Camp, Czech Republic, He survived. He and Cilly Carlebach emigrated from Frankfurt, Germany, and eventually settled in Detroit Michigan. Leopold Neuhaus lived at 1909 Calvert, Detroit, Michigan, in 1954. He died on 10 May 1954 in Detroit, Michigan, at age 75. He was buried after 10 May 1954 at the Beth Tefilo Emanuel Cemetary, Fermdale, Michigan, located on Woodward north of 8 and 1/2 mile rd.
