About Rabbi Moshe Katz
According to a Yikhus Letter prepared in Lodz in 1931 by Rabbi Yoel Fryd, whose spouse was a great-granddaughter of Rabbi Ephraim Efraim Fiszel Fishel Katz, of Warta, the latter was the son of ('the great leader') Zev Vulf (no father given) and Esther bat Nissin b. Yeshaya Katz (Esther Katz). This differs from what is shown as of this writing on GENI, which has Ephraim Fishel HaCohen as the spouse of Esther bat Nissin Katz, rather than as her son. Moreover, Ephraim Fishel's father is given on GENI as Moshe b. Yeshaya Katz, the uncle of Esther bat Nissin, meaning that Ephraim Fishel and Esther would be first cousins from the Katz HaCohen tree under the current GENI model. The Yikhus letter does mention a Moshe b. Yeshaya Katz who is ABD of Pzemuslov(sp?) but says nothing about a son Ephraim Fishel. (24 DEC 2023)
