"Robert Broun (of Colstoun) married Margaret Ballantine, daughter and heiress of James Ballantine of Newhall, and was designed of Newhall...

...He was drowned 31 May 1703, along with his sons, Patrick and George, in a stream on the Colstoun estate, leaving four daughters."
