In the name of God amen Samuel Linkon in the town of Norton in the County of Bristol in new england yeoman for being in sound memory & disposing mind this Seventeenth Day of December 1748 and in the twenty second year of his majesties reign George the Second &; and now in_______as God there for; and calling to mind that it is appointed for man ____ to die and not knowing the hour of my death thinkit is my Duty to set my house in order;and therefore first of all I committe my soule to God in Christ who gave it;and my body to _____ the Earth to be ______ buried by my Executor hereafter named _____ and hoping in Christ to _________again at resurrection of___ Just by ___ call might power of God; and the worldly estate God has blessed me with I dispose of in manner & form following
Imprimis I give & bequeath to my beloved wife Hipsaba Linkon all the personal Estate she brought to me at the time of her marriage to me;and over & above that she shall be endowed with one third part of my personal Estate for ever and one third part of my personal estate shall _________ of ______her natural life
Item I give to my son Elijah Linkon of Taunton over and above what I have all ready given him in money & other species; one hundred poundsold tenor in the money or paper bills now ____ to be paid him my son David Linkon one half with in one year after my death [?] and the other half in two years after my death to be paid Dd Linkon his heir or _____ in cattle or other creatures as so David shall have to dispose of
Item i give to my son David Linkon all my Rael estateand shall Due _________ in the County of Bristol he to have & hold the farme [?]his heirs & ___ for ever as an absolute Estate in _____ upon paying the legacy as afforded to his brother Elijah and the legacy to my daughter here after named
Item Igive to my Daughter Dinah Wetherel [written above her name is "wife of Nathanel Wetherel Junior"] fifty pounds old tenor or paper bills now ________ from man to man [?] or the value thereof in sheep or cattle and so-forth to be paid her within two years after my death or her heir ____or allign [?]
Item The other two thirds of my mentioned Estate both with in _______out not disposed of to my wife I give all three of my children to be equally Divided between them after my death _________and said son David to ____ all my debts & pay all my just debts ____I do by there ____ constitute and appoint my sd son-David Linkon sole executor of this my will & testament and do hereby revoke & make null all my former wills and testaments by me here to fore made & execute and so do ratifie this & this only to be my sd will.
