About Samuel Lincoln, II

Samuel baptized in Hingham Aug. 25, 1650. He was the son of Samuel and Martha Lincoln.[1]

He married Apr. 29, 1687, Deborah Hersey, daughter of William and Rebecca (Chubbuck) Hersey. She was born in Hingham Jan. 1, 1665-66, and died 28 Apr. 1706. [1]

At home he held various military offices, and was styled "Cornet." He was by occupation "carpenter." Selectman 1694 and 1698. Resided on the paternal homestead, North St., near Thaxter's Bridge.[1]

He died March, 1720-21, set. 71st yr. His will, made soon after the decease of his wife provides for three sons and six daughters; also for his sister Martha while she remains a maiden. In 1675 and 1676 he was a member of the brave Capt. Johnson's company, and participated as cavalryman in the great Narraganset fight. In 1679 his name Samuel Lincoln, II upon " a list of foot-soldiers belonging in Hingham, who are willing to serve the country in the capacity of troopers." [1]
