Sarah Ludlow, John Carter's fourth wife Sarah Ludlow was the daughter of Gabriel and Phillis Ludlow, Gabriel Ludlow was a lineal descendant of that William Ludlow, of 'Hill Deverill,' Wilts, who was butler to the King and member of Parliament, and who died in 1478.
