He married by 1684, Sarah2 White [John1], She was half-sister of Sir William Phips Her father John White and his business partner James Phipps bought large tracts of land in Maine. He mother was married to both John White and James Phipps. Joshua Lane and Sarah White where parents to two children recorded in Boston: Sarah and John. Sarah died and Joshua Lane had a second wife Elizabeth [____] in his probate records.
