About Sarah Conklin
JOHN CONKLIN (John 2, 1) who was born at Hashamomack, Southold, L. I, ca. 1658/59, was the oldest son of Capt. John Concklyne and Sarah (Horton) Salmon. He married ca. 1684, SARAH SCUDDER, born ca. 1663/64, a daughter of Thomas Scudder of Southold and Huntington, L. I.
Sarah was named as wife in the 15 January 1705/6 John Conkling of Southold, beloved wife Sarah to have 1/3 part of the lands, meadows and farm. Probate granted to her 2 Jan 1706.[1]
Mrs. Sarah Conklyn, relict of Mr. John Conklyln died 18 Aug. 1753 ae. 89, according to her gravestone at Hashamomack. John Conklin died at Hashamomack 4 Mar. 1705/6, according to the Salmon records. (Note: Hashamomack was a section of Southold and often appears alone as a location.)

Inscription
"Here lyes buried the body of Mrs. Sarah Conkling, wife of Mr. John Conkling who departed this life Aug 17, 1753. Aged 89 years."
