About Sgt-Major Alfred Hugh Fraser, MM

Awarded the Military Medal for gallantry and devotion to duty (Date of Grant 17 Dec 1918).
Mr J. Fraser, Maltby Avenue, has received cable advice from the Minister for Defence as follows:- "Regret to inform you that cable received reports your son son Alfred Hugh Fraser was wounded on June 16." Private Alfred Fraser and his brother Charlie Fraser, left New Zealand with the 6th Contingent, and were at Gallipoli together. They are now together in France. Another brother will leave with the 16th Reinforcements.

Mrs J. Fraser, of Maltby Avenue, Timaru, has been advised that her son, Private Alfred Hugh Fraser, who left New Zealand with the 6th Reinforcements, taking part in the evacuation of Gallipoli, has been wounded for the fourth time.
