BEMAN Silence Wife Samuel Esq 1760-1796 36y 1760 5/12/1796 Her virtue lies beneath the shade Her husbands joy her childrens aid A friend to all the poor Sweet charity possesst her heart To each distress she did impart those favours in her power Was fair and wise without disguise Modest and plain without distain No pomp or grand parade Despising all those little things of gold & silver crowns and kings resigned herself to death HF 8 Hampton and Whitehall border one another. Hampton is much smaller. The red designates markers in the Revolutionary War cemetery. The discrepancies in dates are not uncommon, though it may mean a different person. Impossible to tell. It looks like Samuel was married twice as there is also BEMAN Mary Wife Samuel Esq 1761-1835. there were no children that could plausibly have been theirs. carol [vtctm@comcast.net] 4/2/2005
