Hampton is much smaller. The red designates markers in the Revolutionary War cemetery. The discrepancies in dates are not uncommon, though it may mean a different person. Impossible to tell. When Silence E. DOUGLAS was born in 1754 in Kingston, Rhode Island, her father, John, was 26, and her mother, Lydia, was 21. She married Samuel BEMAN in 1775 in Amenia, New York. They had nine children in 18 years. She died on May 12, 1799, in Hampton, New York, at the age of 45, and was buried there.
