Thomas was married to a woman named Penelope, thought that she was the daughter of John Howel and his wife Elizabeth. John Howel mentioned a daughter named Penelope in his will, which Thomas witnessed. Thomas was also paid 2 shillings and 6 pence by Howell's estate, likely as payment for a debt.

An inventory of Thomas' estate was made by the executors, his wife Penelope Dixon and son Nicholas Dixon, and returned by them to the court on 9 Feb 1748.

3 May 1678 – Isle of Wight County, VA – William Boddie to Henry & Marie Martin's three children, Thomas Dixon, Henry Dixon, and Henry Martin, seven female cattle and their female increase, the male increase to go to their parents. Wit: James Pedden, William Duck.

11 Sep 1747 – Isle of Wight County, VA – Thomas Dixon to Joseph Bullard, both of Newport Parish in Isle of Wight County, for £15, a 100-acre tract of land in said parish and county, bounding on the land of said Dixon and Nicholas Dixon, being half of a dividend of land purchased by said Dixon from William Corbell on 19 Mar 1724. Wit: Joseph Meredeth, Jonas Shivers, Henry Bullard, Florence Bullard. On 8 Oct 1747, it was proved in open court by the oaths of Henry Bullard, Jonas Shivers, and Florence Bullard, and Thomas Dixon's wife Penelope Dixon relinquished right of dower.
