A son of Christopher Lupton and Isabel Sowden, he was baptized on 2 February 1605 at the Church of Saint Andrew in Keighley, Yorkshire, England.
Although he was married at an early age, and the father of seven children, the name of his wife was not recorded in the parish register at the Church of All Saints in Bingley, Yorkshire, England.
Thomas Lupton may have made the journey to New England in the company of his brother-in-law, Richard Ogden, by 1641. Early settler of Connecticut, together with his sons Thomas Lupton (1628 — 1684; m. Hannah Morris in 1662) and Christopher Lupton (1631 — 1686). He died after 21 October 1644.
