Thomas & his wife came from England to Maine on the ship 'Increase' in July 1635. He was a Gentleman & a Tailor of Saco, ME. Probably agreeing to take the Oath of Fidelity to England & the Church of England sometime before he & his family actually departed England for America. Marl Lane is the street off of Fenchurch St. which passes the Clothworker's Hall (in the garment dist.) near the Tower of London. Thomas & his wife had 2 children whose bapt. were recorded in the parish church of Saint Gabriel, Fenchurch, London, which is also located near the Clotheworker's Hall & Custom House near the Tower of London. He was also of All Saints Staying, London. There were many passengers that embarked on the ship 'Increase' with Thomas & his family at London between 13th - 18th day of April 1635. He arrived at Boston the last of July 1635. In addition to his family, 2 servants accompanied him. In 1640 he became a member of the Grand Jury. A plantation of about 50 acres was assigned to Thomas about 4 miles from the mouth of the Saco River. Thomas died suddenly of unknown causes.
Tailor, came over in the "increase" with wife and two children in 1635 from All Saints, Staynings, Mark Lane, London, being certified to the church of england. He settled first at Sacs, ME where under date of 7th of Sept, 1636 he appears as a subscriber in the "book of rates for the ministers rates". Later he is found at "Casco" "cape elizabeth" or "purpooduck at falmouth". 1640 Grand Jury
Thomas came to America on the "Increase" in 1635, at age 29, along with his wife Elizabeth, age 28, Son Thomas age 2, and his daughter Katherin, age 1.and "2 servants," "Edward Sparks," aged 22, and "Kat[herine] Taylor," aged 24, with a certificate of conformity from "All Saints Staynings, Marklane," were enrolled at London as passengers for New England on the Increase [Hotten 58].
