5 May 1846 T. L. Whitehead of Marshall Tx (printed in Vicksburg, MS) no doubt our Thomas LeRoy Whitehead was cruelly murdered in in that town on the 13 of April 1846. Shot in the head with 10 bullets, etc. gory details... by bounty hunters looking for someone else for a reward.... he was a gentleman of little malice and milk of human kindness.. studies law at Greene Co. Alabama.
There was a Burnell Whitehead probate 27 Mar 1843 Yazoo, MS who I'm guessing is the "B" in T.L.& B Dry Goods.
While at Green,, Alabama T L Whitehead married Elizabeth C Williamson and had little John J Whitehead 1834-1875 and Robert Williamson Whitehead 1833-1864 before having his brains blown out by mistake. She was born Tennessee. She moved back to Greene with her sons and is in the 1850, 60 70, 80 census. etc.
In 1836 there is a T. L. & B Whitehead dry goods store advertising in Vicksburg.
U.J. Whitehead wrote his will on September 28, 1836, Yazoo County, MS. Names wife Georgiana, infant dau Adeline. Names executor of estate: Thomas LeRoy Whitehead. Whiteness John Colglazes (sp?), R B Garnett, M L Fitch.
