Wilhelm Friedrich Knobel

Poet. Born 1935 in Bethlehem, Free State, South Africa. Died 8 January 1974 in a private hospital after 3 year illness. Went to School in Bethlehem and attended Stellenbosch University. Grad with BA. In France gained Honours Degree in Philosophy. Lectured French for 1 yr @ University of Freestate and another @ University of South Africa Appointed translator for Citrus Board. Published "Bloedsteen" (anthology of poems) in 1966 and "Mure van Mos" in 1970. Unmarried.
