About Humphrey Archer
Humphrey Archer, married Anna, daughter of Sir Robert Townsend de Ludlow, and had sons Humphrey, Arthur, Andrew, John, Bridget, Marjory and Elizabeth . Humphrey was a justice of the Court of Common Pleas. The Court of Common Pleas was originally established by King Henry II and become the most active court in England. It heard the cases made between subjects, as compared to cases between a subject and the crown. Humphrey died on October 24, 1562.
