William Wirt Winchester (1837 – March 7, 1881) was the second president of the Winchester Repeating Arms Company from 1880 to 1881.
He was the son of Oliver Fisher Winchester and Jane Ellen Hope and was born in Boston. His siblings include: Ann Rebecca Winchester (1835-1864) who married Charles B. Dye; and Hannah Jane Winchester who married Thomas Gray Bennett. William married Sarah Lockwood Pardee on September 30, 1862. On July 15, 1866, Sarah gave birth to their only child, Annie Pardee Winchester, but the baby died six weeks later of marasmus. William died in New Haven, Connecticut on March 7, 1881 of tuberculosis. He was buried in Evergreen Cemetery in New Haven.
William Winchester was William Philo Hibbard's 6th cousin once removed.
