Tiburcio Buccat Bucasas was born on August 11, 1906 in Galongen, Bacnotan, La Union Province, Philippines. He immigrated to Hawaii in 1924. Tiburcio returned to the Philippines only once in the mid-1950's.
Tiburcio married Mary K. Makaiwi Sylva and together, they raised three sons, Stanley, Richard and William. He also raised 3 step children, Laverne Ingram, Otis Ingram and Blossom. And, an adopted daughter, Lindel Bucasas.
Tiburcio provided humbly for his large family by working for the sugar plantations in Hawaii for more than 40 years. He was musically talented, playing the saxaphone, and also very athletic.
With all the good things he did to provide for his family, he never spoke of his family in the Philippines. Bucasas Family Tree is created with the intent to search out possible family members from the old country.
His father's name was Norberto Bucasas. His mother's name was Maria Buccat. The only sibling we are aware of is a sister named Lucina, who was born in the early 1900's.
