JewishGen-Endingen (Baden-Württemberg)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Endingen is in Canton Aargau, Switzerland, according to the tombstone of Simon Dreifuss who was born there on April 21, 1818. He died in Philadelphia, Pa. on Jan. 10, 1874 and is buried in Mount Sinai Cemetery, where his tombstone is located.

Canton Aargau borders Baden-Württemberg to the north, with the Rhine River forming the border.

In the 17th century, Jews were banished from Switzerland with the exception of two villages — Endingen and Lengnau, both in Canton Aargau.
