This project seeks to collect all of the Jewish families from the town of Nassau/Lahn (Hessen), Germany.

Though this small town, located on the river Lahn between Koblenz and Limburg, was historically named as Nassau-Hessen, it is, in fact, in the region of Rheinland-Pfalz (i.e. not in the region currently known as Hessen)

The synagogue, officially opened in 1858, was desecrated in the november Pogrom of 1938, destroxed by bombing in 1945 and the ruins finally removed at a subsequent date.

There is, however, still a small Jewish Cemetery - cf. a photo here:
