This was the name given to the people who played host to the Prophet Muhammad when he migrated from Mecca to Medina in the 6th century. Since these were people of different clans therefore they had different casts and surnames. But the name given to them by the people who became their guests was Ansari and that is from where this sir name began. But originally these people had different sir names. For example the tribe to which our family is fabled to belong was called Banu Najar. But then they started writing Ansari.

Some Ansari families,that may be regarded as the most original ones,may be descended from Ansa-Ri ,
king of Corea until about 113 BC ,corresponding to 1274 of the currently used aera of begin in 1387 BC .
He may well be identical with Abang-Bu ,father of Tugue people and Ashina dynasty ,who may be closeslty
related to Ashinenka ( Ashina-Inka ) and to Khan-Gütü tribes of the Andes ,
and with Vagharshak ( Wal-Garh-Shak ) king of Armenia from the Parthian Arshakid dynasty,
from whom Garhwali kings in Nepal may also be descended .
Ri Ansa was the son of Yangmu ,called Nadaungmya in Burma and Indravarman in Cambodia ,
as well as Mamadi Kani in Mali,who might have been the first,or if not the first,then the most
outstanding M'hammad of his epoch,the generic ancestor of the Rhinoceros nobility,the first man
of that kind in history.
Ashk-Enazer would be the Berber name for a Rhinoceros,while the Ashaninka could say Iche-K'eri ,
that is also the name of Ichkeri noble tribe among the Nahchui ,who are believed to be of part
Yemenite origin ,called in Arabian sources Che-Nariya .
They appear to be the close relatives of Nahche tribe in America,the Holy Land ,called also Tucue ,
and thus be the successors of the Tugue,the descendants of Ansa-Ri .
It is likely therefore,that the later ,the prophet Muhammad's helpers were in big number of
Weinakh origin ,nobles descended from Ri Ansa ,and were titled therefore ,at least some of them ,
Ansari .
