Eisman was originally Ajzman, a Jewish Yiddish name that in my family, we can trace back to the beginning of the 19th century in Poland, Eis or Ajz means ice in Yiddish.

Although there is no evidence for this, the name could perhaps have been related to another common Jewish European name Ajzenman or Eisenman, from the Yiddish root eisen meaning iron.
