Felice Orlandini born 20.4.1780 in Modena, north-east Italy. During the Napoleonic Wars he served with the British Army, with the 60th regiment of the 1st Battalion, Royal American Regiment. In 1806-1808 and again from 1811 - 1819, the regiment served the British Colonial Colony at the Cape of Good Hope, Cape Town, South Africa. Felice Orlandini bought his discharge on the 16.12.1816, and settled in Church Street in Stellenbosch, where he became known as a general dealer. He passed away on 20.5.1849 at his home. On the 5.2.1820 he had married Anna Elisabeth Wiehahn, born 7.4.1799 at Kuilsriver - passed away on 17.9.1875 at Stellenbosch. She was the daughter of Georg Jacob Wiehahn and Adriana Jacoba van den Burg (11 children born).
