Ilije i Matu pok. Darija (Iva).
  b) kod crkve Sv. Jurja - Josipa,
  c) u zaseoku Bekavci (Gornji Kričak) - Ivana,
  d) Zabrdom - Josipa, Mate i Ivana,
  e) u Zaveterju - Ivana.

The first written record of the Vilović family surname I found in old church books on the island Brač, as a family nickname Peruzović who migrated from Brela. Peruzović have come to Brač as a new population in 1645 in Milna (the oldest record). Peruzović in Dol run as Peruzović alias Vilović. This data was processed in the book BULLETIN FOR THE NATIONAL LIFE AND CUSTOMS Andro Jutronić, Zagreb, 1950.

In the cited record there is an evident connection between surnames and Peruzović and Vilović. Nickname Vilović probably originated in Brela, a part of families that moved to the Brac retained the surname Peruzović, in that part which remained in Brela nickname became the name Vilović. From the above it is evident that Vilović belong to indigenous peoples in Brela. The literature on the origins of names and surnames are found two explanations for the emergence of surnames Vilović:

a) The basis for the origin of the surname Vilović Palace which is a noun originally meaning in Slavic languages, the space in front of the house, outside out. Noun court later in the Middle Ages means flat vlastelinov, vlastelinovo estate. In the south, where there was the impact of the Italian language, there are names like motivation, vlastelinov apartment VILLA, hence the surname originated VILLA, VILOTTA, VILLOTTA, VILOTIĆ, VILIVIĆ etc.

b) Surname could arise from the words to popular superstition: fortune teller, vilenica (elf), etc. Since adjectives Vilen, ie as being fabulously, created many names such as: Villa, Vilica (Fork), Vicka, Vili, Vilko etc.

Another explanation about the origin of surnames is acceptable and were given by people who are early in the morning hurried to the mountain, so they were called vilenjacima (Elves). Made up the story and the companionship of people with villas, villas and help in uprooting the grass, bushes, guarding, etc. The elderly are the stories tied to particular areas, especially where they pass nevista Vilović day passed. Elf - the son of the Elves - a young Elf - Vilović.

Nickname in this case is suppressed surname Peruzović and so they become Peruzovic Vilović. This name was created in Brela. Name area in the Upper Krička "Peruzovina" testified that lived in Brela Peruzović. Vilović mentioned April 26, 1769 when don Pavao Ursić asks the advice of the Bishop if he could marry Ante Vilović with Cvita Kupičić as her parents opposed, however, by fair means she fled to another house.

In the year 1830, the Vilović family had lived and owned buildings in the five hamlets of: a) west of Skalica, b) at Sveti Jurja, c) in the hamlet Bekavac, d) Zabrda, e) in Zaveterju (with Bekavac). According to the 1799 book of Omis, in Brela lived three families Vilović that are related:

- the number 104

Ilija Vilović 50 years, Šime, wife of Ilija Josip, son of Ilija 6 years Mande, daughter of Ilija Matija, daughter of Ilija total of 5 members

- the number 105

Ivo Vilović 40 years Jelena , wife of Ivo Mate, the son of Ivo, 7 years, Matija, daughter of Nina Eva, daughter of Nina total of 5 members

- the number 106

Jakov Vilović, 34 years Andja, wife of Jakov Mate, son of Jakov, 5 years Jure, son of Jakov, 3 years Matija, daughter of Jakov a total of 5 members

In the Report of Austrian Cadastral Survey of 1830, Vilović is registered as owners of buildings in five villages, and were registered in the names of: a) west of Skalica - Josip son of Ilija and Mate, son of the late Darius (Ivo). b) near the Church of Sveti Juraj - Josip, c) in the hamlet Bekavac (Upper Kričak) - Ivan, d) Zabrda - Josip, Mate and Ivan, e) in Zaveterju - Ivan. According to the census which was conducted in 1948 in the Republic of Croatia, Vilović families lived in 22 places. The Vilović group in Brela was the fourth largest and it seemed that 10 people lived in two families.
