I am trying to ascertain the fate of my relative, Karl Johan Karlsen (born Bergen, Norway in 1876). He was the brother of my Great Grandfather, Birger Gerhard Carlsen (who changed the spelling of his surname from his birth name of Karlsen).
Older brother Karl Karlsen moved to Brooklyn, New York and was a painter & decorator. He was married and had a son or step-son, who was a taxi driver (perhaps a taxi-firm proprietor).
My mother's family in Bergen were still in contact with the New York branch of the clan into the 1930s, but now it seems there is no one left who can help me find out what happened to this family.
Ca anyone help please?

Which family do you want to find descendants of, - Brooklyn or Bergen?

Hello Bjørn,
Thanks for replying.
I am after any details of what happened to the family in Brooklyn if you can help please.
I think I have traced as many of the Norwegian branch of the family as possible, but saying that, if you have any information on Norwegian relatives of this clan, I would gratefully receive it.
Thanks in advance,
Bob.
