I have a photocopy of William Pleasant Hudson's Bible which shows his birth date as November 10, 1781 in Cecil County, Maryland. He immigrated to North Carolina in 1804 and married Mary Polley Phillips in 1807. They immigrated to Franklin County, TN in 1818. I am sure that this is the same man as in your records because of the children belonging to that union.

I am not certain of who his father is. Do you have any substantial information about William Pleasant Hudson's parents? My brother has a powder horn that was used in the Revolutionary War by either William Pleasant Hudson's father or grandfather. I would like to be certain before attaching a name to the powder horn. I have photos of that powder horn being held by my uncle who told me that it was given to him by his grandfather William Pleasant Hudson (II) with the information that the powder horn was used in the Revolutionary War by his ancestor. Any information would be appreciated! John E. Hudson
