Hello: Looking for info on John Davis Watts, born about 1825 in Gibson County, TN (at least that;s what it says in the Civil War Muster Rolls. I can't find anytrhing about him until he shows up in Illinois in 1848 and marries Francis Jane Clampett. They are my grX2 grandparents. Have lots of info on Francis but can't find anything on John, other than the life he had here with Francis. I know he was still alive in 1871 because my mother grandfather, Charles was born then and he is on the 1870 census. He is gone by the 1880 census and Francis listsherself as a widow. Illinois records as well as other records do not have anything on him. Any ideas? Francis and John and many children - Sarah, Harriett, James, Hester William and Mary Vienna before my Charles was born in 1871. Any clues or ideas would be great Thanks so much!
