He became an international banker of some renown, with dual Canadian/US citizenship. He returned a small medicine chest to President Harry Truman in 1939, which his grandfather Thomas William Kains had pillaged from the White House during the British burning of Washington in 1814. Archibald Kains died on Dec 27, 1944.
