Headsup that my Dad's Y DNA results have been populated to the Doubell ancestor on our SA tree. If my paper trail is correct, then all male Doubells in SA carry the Y chromosome R-M269 (also called R1b1a1a2) - now concentrated in Western Europe, where "[t]he frequency is about 92% in Wales, 82% in Ireland, 70% in Scotland, 68% in Spain, 60% in France (76% in Normandy), about 60% in Portugal, 45% in Eastern England, 50% in Germany, 50% in the Netherlands, 42% in Iceland, and 43% in Denmark. It is as high as 95% in parts of Ireland. It is also found in some areas of North Africa, where its frequency peaks at 10% in some parts of Algeria. M269 has likewise been observed among 8% of the Herero in Namibia." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haplogroup_R1b

At the moment, the ancient path of R-M269 appears to have been a migration from Western Asia via southeastern Europe.

I belong to the Y-DNA Haplogroup J-M172 - not to the Y-DNA Haplogroup R1 - but I'm aware that "It is estimated that over 100 million European men belong to haplogroup R1b1a2(M269), and that greater than 70% of western European men belong to the specific clade defined by SNP L 11", as we can see here: "Discovery of Western European R1b1a2 Y Chromosome Variantes in 1000 Genomes Project Data; An Online Community Aproach”(site http://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.00...;. At least 50% of those allels seems to came from Ancient Egypt: https://www.igenea.com/en/tutankhamun
All that remind me Milesius Galamh King of Ireland, King of Braganza, Spain, my 101st great grandfather (Milesius Galamh (Lebor Gabála Érenn) ) - married to the Pharos daughter Princess Scota - as a "legendary ancestor of the Irish people. His original name was Golam (or Galamh).... was called Míl Espáine (Soldier of Spain), contracted to Milesius". And we can see the route of their migration saga around de world in the last book of Gavin Menzies, "The Lost Empire of Atlantis", pg 28, map of "X2 haplotipe's" world distribution, from 4.000 years ago, through all princess Scota's staff. At pgs. 90 and between 160/161 we see mythology and gold minoic jewels of "Milesseus, literarely The Bee Man".

Hi Sharon,

Our Corrie Y-DNA haplogroup is FGC3249 (that is our terminal SNP). FGC3249 is downstream from L21 which is downstream of R-M269. Those USD99 backbone tests are well worth the money; to determine the terminal SNP as the R-M269 tree is a very, very widespread tree (albeit essentially Celtic).
