Thomas Cole married Mary Ann (Agnes) Thorne after Jane Bishop in 1858 died after childbirth (her third child, daughter Mary Ann (Carrie). At least two of Jane Bishop's daughters grew up with Thomas Cole's family. The children listed as stepchildren of Jane Bishop were born after her death and were actually children of Thomas Cole and "Agnes" Thorne Cole. For example, my grandfather Uriah Joseph Cole was born in 1866. The Bishop-Cole line is distinct from the Thorne-Cole line.
