I'm seeking info on JOHN O'HANDLEY, who had a son Michael O'Handley with Elizabeth (Bessie) MacNeil of Boulardarie, Cape Breton in 1871. John worked in Caledonia Mine in Birch Grove or Glace Bay at 's that time. He may have emigrated to Michigan, USA. The O'Handley family homestead was on the site that became St. Ann's Parish Camp. Bessie was the daughter of Hector "The Mason" MacNeil.Sinc

Michael was my grandfather; his mother Bessie resided with him and his family on Dominon Street, Glace Bay, NS, until her death in 1916, but we know nothing of John O'Handley. Michael had a stepsister Maggie MacNeil (who married Alex Steele of Glace Bay) and a half sister Mary Elizabeth MacNeil.

Thank you in advance, Gwen (O'Handley) AuCoin
