Ive bee researchin my Hays family for over 25 years. All my records show Mary Hay McClendon was John and Mary Levicy Hays' granddaughter. She was the daughter of their son, ,Parker and Rachel Dykes Hays. Mary Hays inherited from Parker's estate. I have the record transcribed on my tree on ancestry from his succession records. Parker is my 2nd gr-grandfather. In 2011, Larry Scott mafe a trip to Louisiana and researched the court records. Before his discovery of John and Levicys succession record there were NO records of John or Mary Sutton Hays anywhere on
Geneaology websites. Not saying anything agaibst anyone's research through DNA, but I think both paper documents and new technology have to be considered.
