I was browsing some discussions on Anestry about the first Tait to come to South Africa from Scotland. And someone mentioned Dr. William Tait came over in 1820 and had a brother in the Cape of Good Hope who would send him letters. Here is a link to the website.

Thank you Micheal, it is the other way around, Dr William did not come to SA but is his bother Peter came. Isaac was in the second party of Peter.

Peter left SA, but Isaac stayed, we are still looking for his birth date in Scotland and his DN in SA
