At the moment, we have Dorothea of Ross assigned to this Torquil --

The main citation is MacKenzie's History of the MacLeods, from 1889.

but the now standard history of the MacLeods, Alick Morrison's The MacLeods: The History of a Clan, gives him Margaret Nicholson as a wife -- Dorothea being the third wife, according to this history, of Torquil Og's grandfather, Tormod MacLeod.

see http://macleodgenealogy.com/ACMS/D0016/I398.html -- this site references extensively, and Morrison's volume is not available on line (and is not in my library for PDF purposes)

What say you all?

I’ve found the Clan MacLeod site to be excellent. It’s current research, sourced, and it’s also well laid out and easy to follow. Should be our “go to” for the Geni tree.

The Morrison volume is referenced there, I think, but Justin pointed me to Sellar (from the College of Hetaldry) so that is most crucial.

I’m just delighted to have access to sources that are more trustworthy than the older ones.
