@ AnneIversen, @PetraOlsdtter
I've been unable to connect my grandmother, Petra Olsdatter to her siblings: Ingebor, Karen, Ida or Hanna all of whom lived in Tretten, Oyer, Oppland or to her mother's family. The church register from Tretten contains their birth dates and places, baptismal dates. They were born on or near Vedem farm at Tretten. Their parents were: Ole Iversen and Anne Hansdatter. Anne was born in Ringebu parish north of Tretten. Anne's birth date is unknown and the church records & census vary re: her age. She was probably born btween 1825 to 1838.
Any help connecting me with information about my ancestors would be greatly appreciated.

Links to the persons on Geni would be helpful.

A girl living in Norway born in the middle of the 19th Century can't have the lastname of Olson or Iversen, they would always have the ending -datter or -dotter since they are females and in Norway most people used patronyms. So Petra should be a Petra Olsdatter, and Anne should be a Anne Iversdatter if her father's firstname was Iver.

Yes, Thank you.

Geni to date is unable to make connections to Petra Olsdatter
.
I was listing the other names my grandmother, Petra Olsdatter used during her lifetime. She used the last name Olson in the US prior marrying my grandfather Obert S Sloulin in 1904 and in some publications Olson was spelled Olsen.

Anne Hansdatter, my great grandmother, married Ole Iversen in Øyer, Oppland on 4 Nov 1862 as noted in a church register and was born in Ringebu parish per 1865 Norwegian census. Petra Olsdatter recorded Anne Hansdatter's name as Hanson in family records
The Thormodsgaard side of the family chose to use Thormodsgard in the US and some branches of the family use Thormod. And the spellings of given names are fluid.

I use family documents, Norwegian church and census records, US census records and many US state/county/city records and Lutheran church records in the US. It is amazing the variety of spellings and names used by/ for an individual and the casual use of birth dates and ages in government and church records.Errors are very prevalent in the records of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America during the 1800-1900's

The territories in the US that now include the states of Montana, North Dakota, etc were very sparsely populated, very large and government record keeping was minimal. My father and his six siblings born from 1905 thru 1921 were not issued a birth certificate and the territories/states did not keep birth records. Family bibles and photos were used by state officials in 1940's and later to "certify" a birth date and birth place. And which branch of government stored records often changed multiple times over the century.
.
If names/dates were consistent and handwriting clear family research would be much simpler! I am new to family research.

Thank you for the links to Digitalarkivet.
There are very many Petra Olsdatters and Ole Iversens!
“My” Petra Olsdatter was born 19 Jan 1878.
I have confirmed birth and baptism dates and places for Petra and her 4 sisters but unable to find their marriages, children, etc. Petra was the only member of her family to emigrate. Unfortunately, no family documents survive to give me clues as to her sisters marriages, children, deaths.
