Mary (Maria) Foster - Query on Mary Foster

Hello Leanne, the following copy from my tree is the source of the marriage ofMary Foster to James Flood. These are on my mother's line.
Thank you for the contact as I have only just been introduced to GENI but do not want to be a subscriber at present as I have other sources to consider.

This Mary FOSTER was only 5 years old in 1828 when the marriage occurred so cannot be the Mary he married.

Hello Leanne, I have rechecked and found Mary Foster was born 17 Dec 1809, died 1854. James Flood was born 1807, died 1886.
Marriage is recorded in 'NSW Pioneer Index' as Cert. V1828 4276 3B (and also Cert. V1828 828 12).
Marriage was on 8 April 1828, at Windsor St Mathews CofE church, Windsor parish.
Mary would have been 18 1/2 years old at that time, if my maths is right?

James Flood has 2 wives on Geni
1) 8/7/1828 to Mary Flood (1809-1854) - no parents listed
2) Mary (Maria) Foster (1823-1901) - daughter of William Foster and Mary Dooley

Did he marry twice? Or should the 2nd Mary be disconnected from him?

From my checking I consider that the Mary [Maria] Foster was not married to our James FLOOD and consider she should be 'unlinked' from him.

I have detached Mary Maria from James FLOOD and removed the Flood from her name

Thank you for doing that. It is always a worry when these little 'glitches' occur in our trees.
