Filtered view of the tree? Ability to exclude specified profiles from the tree view?

A fellow Geni user asked me a very good question that I don't know how to answer. Perhaps this is already available, or perhaps it would be a nifty new feature for Geni.

Suppose there some profiles in the Geni global tree that you don't care to see when you look at your tree (for example, your spouse's ex(es)). How can we ask Geni to filter out certain profiles (and the profiles connected through them) when displaying a tree?

(It might be similar to how one can edit one's "Immediate Family" on the profile page)

Unfortunately not, - but we should not censor history, and it would be selfish to hide an ex if there are children involved.
How would you react if your step-father decided to hide your biological fathers family?

If just an ex and no other connections like children it is probably OK to cut that connection, but again it would be altering history.

thanks! The user's preference should not affect how other people view the tree, only the one user (presumably paying Pro user only) changing the configuration for his/her account.

So, for example, if Alice had been married to Bob before and subsequently to Charlie, and if Charlie doesn't want to see Bob, then Charlie could ask Geni not to show him Bob - but that should only affect Charlie's view of the tree and not anyone else. (And likewise Bob might want to filter out Charlie and even might not see Alice in his personal view)

Of course the rest of the world should still be able to see the entire tree uncensored and should not even be able to see that Bob and/or Charles chose to configure their personal views to be filtered.
