Lieutenant Colonel John Williams, II - Death year and middle name of this John Williams II

I have seen his death year as 1741 and 1755 with the month and day both the same for both years. Do we know for sure what year? Also is this the John Drayton Williams? Wouldn't he be the "III" not the "II"? His father's middle seems to be Lewis. If so then he would be the "III".
I have been researching for several years and using others inputs, but it seems maybe some were wrong so I am trying to go back and retrace what I have. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Frank, Lt. Col. John Williams, II that I have was born January 26, 1679 and died September 6, 1755.
Not sure if this is the same person you are looking for.
He had a son, John Williams.
