NOTE: "John Taylor came over from England about 1659. He was an early settler of Hadley, Massachusetts. His first appearance in the Hadley town records was in 1662, when as a single man he applied for and received a small plot of land (Lot 22). About 1667 he sold Lot 22, and purchased Gov. John Webster's homestead (Lot 7), remaining on the property until his death in 1713. At least eight of his nine children were born there. He is believed to be buried in the Hadley town cemetery. In 1900 the house on this lot in Hadley still had the same stones in the cellar wall and the main timbers of the original Webster/Taylor house. - History of John Taylor of Hadley, pp. 15-21." - "History of John Taylor of Hadley" by Elbert Ozial Taylor, 1903; "History of John Taylor of Hadley" by Frank L.
