Dealing with an ignorant/stubborn correspondent

I received a note from someone on Geni, requesting that I delete a profile because one already exists for that person, causing confusion. My reply stated that deleting it would not be helpful, as she is connected to several other families, but that we could work on mergers to eliminate said confusion. The correspondent sent another message, saying that she does not wish to work togethe and that I should just delete it.

Should I just leave it alone, or should I pursue it with further messages. It seems to me that this user doesn't understand what I'm saying and is not prepared to understand.
