With the greatest of respect to you, I would suggest that you look again. The name Archibald is not misspelt in the death record.

I do not agree with you when you say that "The bio evidence here is completely misleading".

The young man named Archibald Dunlop who died in June 1719 does appear to be the son of James Dunlop, third of Garnkirk. As much is suggested by the fact that his father is not said to be dead in June 1719. He died not die until December 1719.
