Now, 2021, to begin with Nancy Miller Thompson Smith's book of 2015, as with any research, you must begin with the possible errors in previously researched, so called facts, get sources. We know this Thomas Martin Rash, never called himself Meredith. He did stop, or never did use his first, common name Thomas. He was most all the time, including himself, referred to as Martin Rash. He is the father of Robert Taylor Rash, born 1847. We know this, because of all the evidence of records of facts. Robert Taylor Rash, the son of Thomas Martin Rash has records of facts from North Carolina to Oklahoma using his middle name, Taylor, as his common name. This is a common thread between father and son. There is no, fact of record that this Martin Rash, or Thomas Martin Rash is a son of Luke Rash of Wilkes County, only researchers guesses and he said, she said. Which is not really research, at all. This is speculative guessing, he could be, there are no factual records showing that he is. Some previous Rash researchers, reference more than one Martin Rash, in the area, at the same time. There are records showing fact of an individual Martin Rash from other places, not only Wilkes County, NC. Most, any of these records if not preserved are no longer in shape to be researched.

We can observe the facts of her research, by noting the highly questionable, results of her statements that do not agree with facts already submitted by evidence from actual reseached, factual sources of information. Such as the surname of Robert Taylor Rash's mother is actually, with sourced, verifiable facts, Lunsford, not Lunceford. The birth date for Robert Taylor Rash is already factually sourced, not to be what she publishes.
