In the attached source labeled "Millicent Weekes's 2 Oct 1703 gift to her "daughter Mary Weekes,"" it reads "I hereby impower Henry Goodloe to appear for me in Middlesex Court there to acknowledge unto my Daughter Mary Weekes and James her son four negro slaves ..." This record may imply that Millicent's daughter Mary was not married, since Millicent referred to her as Mary Weekes, and that Mary may have had a child out-of-wedlock. On the same page of this source, in the entry above with the same date, Millicent made a gift to her son-in-law William Montague, husband of her daughter Lettice. If Mary had been married, it would be logical that Millicent would refer to Mary by her married name in this record and to even mention her son-in-law's name if he were still alive in 1703 (which George Goodloe was). Further, it is apparent that Mary had a son named James, yet there is no James in this family.

This analysis would seem to indicate that Mary Weeks, daughter of Abraham and Millicent Weeks, was not the wife of George Goodloe. We know George's wife's name was Mary, since he used that name in his will; however, there is little proof of her maiden name. Other sources attached have suggested she was Mary Gibson.

Are they referring to Millicent Weekes

I think so, the Goodloe Marriage FS shows is disproved.

Abraham Weekes and Millicent ______ were the parents of the following children.

1. Francis Weekes, b. about 1655 (m. Elizabeth Hobbs about 1676).

2. Mary Weekes, b. about 1658 (unmarried in 1703).

3. Catherine Weekes, b. 1661 (m. Henry Williamson in 1679).

4. Margaret Weekes, b. about 1664 (m. John Collins on 1 April 1684).

5. Elizabeth Weekes, b. about 1667 (m. John Vaus on 19 January 1688, Caleb Wheeling in 1691 and Thomas Spencer on 14 December 1693).

6. Millicent Weekes, b. about 1670 (m. John Jones in 1690 and James Blaise in 1694).

7. Lettice Weekes, b. about 1672 (m. Matthew Lidford on 6 January 1692 and William Montague in 1694).
